KINGSTON, Jamaica — After years away in the United States, dancehall artiste David ‘Mavado’ Brooks returned to Jamaica for the first time, landing Tuesday night from Miami, Florida.
The internationally acclaimed dancehall artiste, who hails from Cassava Piece in St Andrew, made a quick stop to enjoy a coconut jelly to “wash off his heart” before heading to a late-night boardroom meeting at the S Hotel in Kingston.
Mavado was greeted by Delano Seiveright, Member of Parliament for St Andrew North Central and Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Investment & Commerce. They were also joined by Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, who is also a minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.
