COLOMBIA – In the context of the Independent Redress Mechanism (IRM) case C0015 related to FP203 “Heritage Colombia (HECO): Maximizing the Contributions of Sustainably Managed Landscapes in Colombia for Achievement of Climate Goal“, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to providing a space where individuals feel safe to raise objections to and concerns about GCF-financed projects.

Under its policy on the protection of whistleblowers and witnesses, GCF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any form of retaliation, which includes intimidation, against current or former employees who engage in protected activities, including interacting with the IRM to provide relevant information under its case processing mandate.

Any detrimental act, direct or indirect, recommended, threatened, or taken against an individual because of his or her report of suspected wrongdoing or his or her cooperation with a Fund investigation is a prohibited practice under GCF policies and will be treated seriously. Whistleblowers and Witnesses play important roles in contributing to the mission of GCF. The Green Climate Fund is committed to ensuring all of its projects are executed in a manner compliant with applicable policies and procedures, including the Policy on the Protection of Whistleblowers and Witnesses.
