Terry Ganzie returns with ‘We Rise’

Must Read

Reggae-dancehall artiste Terry Ganzie, the ‘Original Outlaw’, has released his new single, We Rise.

The track, produced by Temps Music LLC, marks a powerful return for the veteran artiste, blending reggae, dancehall, and Afro beats elements to deliver a message of hope, resilience, and perseverance that resonates with audiences worldwide.

We Rise is more than just a song — it is an anthem for Black people in Africa and across the world, calling for unity, empowerment, and the strength to overcome struggles,” Terry Ganzie said.

Terry Ganzie is known for songs that project a fiery Rastafarian message. However, his earlier songs, such as Welcome The Outlaw, Ragga Ragga and Whosoever Will, were dance-crashers in the 1990s.

He insists that his current songs are just as potent, despite the lack of consistent airplay.

He hopes to score with his latest Afrobeat powerhouse single which uses an uplifting rhythm, employs cross-cultural sounds, and showcases his signature lyrical depth.

This song is insurmountable proof of Terry Ganzie’s ability to use music as a global voice for liberation and social change.

We Rise is an Afro World music live anthem that we know the fans will appreciate,” Terry Ganzie said.

Born Vandorne Johnson in Hanover, Jamaica, Terry Ganzie emerged in the late 1980s and 1990s as one of the most respected voices in reggae and dancehall.

Influenced early on by greats such as Barry Brown and Super Cat, Ganzie became known for his socially conscious lyrics and uncompromising “reality” style.

With acclaimed releases like Welcome the Outlaw, he established himself as a force in the golden era of dancehall, admired for addressing real-life struggles through music.

Now partnering with Temps Music LLC and Afro Music World Live, Terry Ganzie continues to inspire both longtime fans and new listeners.

We Rise is a rallying cry for black unity, strength, and hope,” he said.
