Must Read

Rising dancehall artiste Pablo YG returns with his latest single Fight and Lose.

The track was made available on all major digital platforms on October 17 via VP Records.

Produced by Tevin “YGF” Richards, the song finds Pablo YG confronting corruption, violence, and the struggles facing today’s youth, echoing realities felt far beyond Jamaica.

Fight and Lose is the third single from the 21-year-old’s début studio album Key to the Century, due for release next year. It follows Celebration with Jahvillani and Maui Wowie.

Pablo YG has already crossed 100 million YouTube views and performed on major stages like Reggae Sumfest.

In 2024, he earned Best Teen Entertainer and Most Promising Entertainer honours at the International Reggae and World Music Awards.

His breakout Bad Juvi mixtape topped charts across the Caribbean, and he’s since earned a co-sign from streamer Kai Cenat and collaborated with artistes ranging from Rvssian to Stalk Ashley, Kranium, and Valiant.

He also expanded his profile outside of music with a feature in the 2023 Supreme x Clarks campaign.

‘Gully Gad’ Mavado returns to Jamaican stage at December concert

Dancehall artiste Mavado will host his first major concert on home soil in almost a decade. Dubbed the Return of the Gully Gad, the concert is scheduled for Plantation Cove in St Ann on December 27.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the organisers of Reggae Fest. Event organisers are looking to rewrite history once more after leading the charge on Vybz Kartel’s back-to-back sold-out shows at the Barclays Centre in New York back in April.

The event is once again being powered by CJ Milan, who played an integral role in Vybz Kartel’s historic United States (US) comeback after 13 years behind bars.

After years away in the United States, David ‘Mavado’ Brooks returned to Jamaica for the first time last week.  The internationally acclaimed dancehall artiste, who hails from Cassava Piece in St Andrew, made a quick stop to enjoy a coconut jelly to “wash off his heart” before heading to a late-night boardroom meeting at the S Hotel in Kingston. A warrant that was out for the deejay’s arrest since 2018, where he was wanted for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, was lifted, prompting the deejay’s return.

Observer Online understands that the complaint was made by Anthony Goulbourne after he was arrested and charged for allegedly shooting at the entertainer.

Reminiscent of Vybz Kartel’s return to the local stage in December 2024, the show is expected to attract thousands of patrons locally and internationally. Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 23rd, at 10:00 am via reggaefest.com.
