Must Read

KINGSTON, Jamaica — International recording artiste Honorebel has stepped into the world of Soca with his debut soca track, Roll Your Waist Remix, featuring the legendary Alison Hinds and dynamic producer/musician Ackah Dan. It was released under Phantom Music Group/Zojak Worldwide.

This remix comes on the heels of massive success for the original Roll Your Waist single, which racked up over 2.3 million YouTube views in just two weeks. Directed by Honorebel and Shadrac Milhomme, that video marked Honorebel’s 39th time in the director’s chair.

Dubbed the ‘Queen of Soca’, Hinds spices up the remix in spectacular fashion, seamlessly interpolating the flavor of her global hit Roll It Gal. Her powerful delivery and commanding presence take the song to another level, fusing Caribbean vibrancy with undeniable star power.

For Honorebel, this remix is more than just a new single; it’s a milestone. Already known for international hits and high-profile collaborations across genres, his first foray into soca demonstrates his versatility.

“I see and hear a carnival hit. This song embodies the energy of soca, the excitement of carnival, and the unity of Caribbean culture, Honorebel said.

Producer Ackah Dan – with roots in Antigua, Ghana, and Jamaica – injects his signature Afro-Caribbean fusion into the remix. Known for blending soulful melodies, modern electronic textures, and ancestral rhythms, Ackah Dan’s touch solidifies Roll Your Waist Remix as both a soca powerhouse and a cross-cultural musical triumph.

Fans can look forward to Honorebel is currently set to release an album titled Winner Circle dropping February 2026, followed by his 15th studio project in summer 2026, where Roll Your Waist – Remix will appear.

Melodii singing the right tune

Recording artiste Melodii is making rounds with his soulful voice and relatable lyrics.

The latest attention-grabber has been with the track Stages, with production credits to Stocks An Bondz Recordz.

“The song was based on everything that I was actually going through with every step that I was taking with music. From different events, and from there, some other things started happening, such as day-to-day life experiences,” the entertainer whose real name is Roderick Baker said.

Born and raised in Clarendon, the Foga Road High School past student discovered his affinity with music from as early as 10 years old.

His growing popularity is thanks to other releases such as Legends, Darkness, and Learn.

Melodii prides himself on releasing music without expletives, unlike many other dancehall artistes. Listeners have responded positively to this approach.

“Not everybody from my era or my age group is doing the type of music that I am. To see somebody like me who’s around a lot of different artistes and still choose to keep a firm meditation, the people love that,” he added.

His musical inspirations include Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Christopher Martin, and Romain Virgo because of the mutual conscious and clean music that they promote.

Meanwhile, he is looking forward to future collabs with Hammond, Masicka, or Nhance.

“Every time I listen to their music, it’s motivational. It pushes me to pursue my goals,” he explained.

The artiste aims to add more music to his latest August 31-released track and will be offering something for all age groups.

He anticipates being featured on stages such as Reggae Sumfest, Rebel Salute, as well as other popular music festivals.

“I just want everybody to know that no matter what happens, this is me, and this is always going to be me, and I’m not going to change. I’m always going to do music and spread something positive. I’m always going to try to elevate myself and I want them to do the same,” Melodii said.
